Projects
The work of Citizens for a Better Arizona is to engage citizens in community based, grassroots projects that promote civic accountability, public discourse and political advocacy. We are constantly looking for opportunities to promote natural leadership and support skill building. It’s about time….join us!
Dear Friends and Supporters:
Last night, November 8, 2011, we accomplished what many thought impossible. When we began this journey in January 2011, many elected officials, business owners and community leaders refused to get involved. They said we would not be able to raise money for the recall. We raised the money. They said we would not be able to get the signatures. We collected the signatures. They said we did not have a candidate. A candidate emerged. They said that even if a candidate emerged we would not prevail. We prevailed. Last night’s victory would not have been possible without your sustained support. For this we are truly thankful.
After over 10 months of organizing – from collecting signatures to chasing ballots – the voters in Mesa sent a loud and powerful message to end the reign of Senate President Russell Pearce. CNN’s coverage last night underscores the national implications of what will become known as one of the most significant political stories in Arizona’s 100 year history. Unfortunately Senator Pearce’s brand of extreme politics is embraced by other elected officials like Sheriff Arpaio, Senator Andy Biggs and Representative John Kavanaugh who are intent on continuing Pearce’s agenda. Our work is not done.
We must continue the work of holding elected officials accountable for their extreme behavior. Please donate today so our organization can continue the work of bringing people together to create an Arizona where we all feel respected, valued and appreciated.
In Pursuit of a Better Arizona,
Randy Parraz, President
